Utah Trip Day 6

Woke up early to watch the sunrise.  I haven't been able to watch the sunrise over a lake in a long time.
 Our "campsite"
We rented kayaks on Lake Powell
I didn't get too many pictures this day...I didn't want my camera to fall in the lake!
On the way out of town we stopped at Horseshoe Bend.  We decided to stop here instead of going all the way down to the Grand Canyon.

Utah Trip Day 5

On Thursday we hiked Angel's Landing.

The mountain in the middle is the one we hiked.

Walter's Wiggles...a bunch of switchbacks up the mountain.  That is Kari in blue and Eric in red, towards the top.
Chains to hold on to

That is the narrow "fin" that we had to hike up, this is where all the chains are.
View from the top
Kari's new friend...he was just as scared of heights as Kari, and very talkative
Heading back down

It was a steep drop off on both sides.

Michael hanging out on the edge as usual.

Had to take another group picture before we left Zion.
Glenn Canyon Dam

Thursday night we camping on the beach on Lake Powell.

Big Springs, about 5 miles up the river.  We stopped for lunch, then started our hike back.

Taking a break after taking the bus back to the visitors center.

Utah Trip Day 3

Woke up early again, and took a group picture before heading to Bryce Canyon

Checked out the canyon from the top...
then hiked down into the canyon to check it out from the bottom.

Another group picture before we headed to Zion.
Awesome view from out campsite in Zion
Made Kabobs for dinner...Yum!

Utah Trip Day 2

Woke up early, made breakfast and got a group picture before we left the campground
Before heading out, we stopped at the orchard to pick some apples

Took a 4 wheel drive road through the desert to Cathedral Valley in Capitol Reef.  Dried up clay in washes/river beds.

Pictures don't do justice to how big these rock formations really are
That's Michael, Kari and Erick standing under it, they look like little ants!

Gypsum sink hole, a huge hole in the ground.  Michael of course had to climb to the top and pose for a picture.

Had to get a group picture before we left
On the drive to Bryce Canyon.  Just outside of Bryce, we found an awesome camping spot on a little
river.  It felt good to actually have a cooler evening and to sit around a fire.
It was a beautiful starry night.
